Indigenous Middle Eastern Voices. Distinct Histories.
One Stronger Australian Future.

AMEA, Australian Middle Eastern Alliance is a collective of Iranian, Maronite Lebanese, Assyrian, Coptic, Jewish, and other Indigenous Middle Eastern communities united to preserve our heritage, strengthen our collective voice and build a more connected future through shared Australian values.

Who is AMEA?

We are a united coalition of Iranian, Maronite Lebanese, Assyrian, Coptic, and Jewish communities in Australia. Our peoples are the Indigenous communities of the Middle East, with histories spanning thousands of years. We are united by our commitment to preserving our distinct cultures, traditions, and heritage and by our shared experience of the devastating impact of extremism and authoritarianism in the region. Together, we stand in opposition to oppressive forces and in unwavering support of freedom, coexistence, and human dignity.

As proud Australians, we are committed to ensuring that our country remains a place of safety, freedom, and mutual respect for all. We reject the importation of hatred and the influence of foreign radical ideologies that threaten the values we hold dear. Through education, advocacy, and solidarity, we work to raise awareness of the threats posed by extremist regimes and to support all legitimate efforts to confront repression, defend freedom, and build a more peaceful and stable Middle East for all its peoples.

Our Values

I.

Unity

We bring Indigenous Middle Eastern Australian communities together around shared interests, aspirations and values, strengthening connection, understanding and collective representation.

By creating space for distinct cultures, histories and perspectives to stand alongside one another, we build a stronger collective voice and a deeper sense of belonging within Australia.

II.

Freedom

We uphold democracy, individual freedom and mutual respect, and believe every community should have the right to live safely, openly and with dignity.

We support an Australia where people are free to preserve their culture, practise their traditions and express their identity without fear of hatred, extremism or discrimination.

III.

Courage

We speak constructively on the issues that matter to Indigenous Middle Eastern Australian communities, standing against hatred, discrimination, extremism and division.

Courage means using our collective voice with clarity and purpose, advocating for our communities, confronting difficult issues and contributing to a safer, more cohesive and resilient Australian future.
