Indigenous Middle Eastern Voices. Distinct Histories.
One Stronger Australian Future.
AMEA, Australian Middle Eastern Alliance is a collective of Iranian, Maronite Lebanese, Assyrian, Coptic, Jewish, and other Indigenous Middle Eastern communities united to preserve our heritage, strengthen our collective voice and build a more connected future through shared Australian values.
Who is AMEA?
We are a united coalition of Iranian, Maronite Lebanese, Assyrian, Coptic, and Jewish communities in Australia. Our peoples are the Indigenous communities of the Middle East, with histories spanning thousands of years. We are united by our commitment to preserving our distinct cultures, traditions, and heritage and by our shared experience of the devastating impact of extremism and authoritarianism in the region. Together, we stand in opposition to oppressive forces and in unwavering support of freedom, coexistence, and human dignity.
As proud Australians, we are committed to ensuring that our country remains a place of safety, freedom, and mutual respect for all. We reject the importation of hatred and the influence of foreign radical ideologies that threaten the values we hold dear. Through education, advocacy, and solidarity, we work to raise awareness of the threats posed by extremist regimes and to support all legitimate efforts to confront repression, defend freedom, and build a more peaceful and stable Middle East for all its peoples.

Our Values
I.
Unity
We bring Indigenous Middle Eastern Australian communities together around shared interests, aspirations and values, strengthening connection, understanding and collective representation.
By creating space for distinct cultures, histories and perspectives to stand alongside one another, we build a stronger collective voice and a deeper sense of belonging within Australia.
II.
Advocacy
We advocate for democracy, individual freedom and mutual respect, upholding the right of every community to live safely, openly and with dignity.
Through a strong collective voice, we support an Australia where people are free to preserve their culture, practise their traditions and express their identity without fear of hatred, extremism or discrimination.
III.
Education
We build understanding of the issues affecting Indigenous Middle Eastern Australian communities, challenging hatred, discrimination and division through education.
By sharing knowledge, experiences and perspectives, we encourage informed dialogue, deepen cultural understanding and contribute to a more respectful, cohesive and resilient Australian future.
Statement of Beliefs
We,members of the Iranian, Maronite Lebanese, Assyrian, Coptic and Jewish communities in Australia, stand together in unity and shared purpose. We represent the Indigenous peoples of the Middle Eastern Countries, with ancient civilisations and histories in the region extending back thousands of years.
We share a commitment to preserving our distinct identities, history, traditions, ancient cultures and religious and ethnic heritage, together with a common experience of the harms caused by extremism and authoritarianism in the Middle East.
We stand united in opposition to oppressive forces and in support of freedom, coexistence and human dignity.
We speak with one voice, in our opposition to extremism and ideologies that have brought immense suffering to our peoples.
We reject the importation of hatred into our country. Australia must remain a place of freedom, safety, coexistence, and mutual respect for people of all faiths and backgrounds. We will not allow foreign radical ideologies or authoritarian influence to take root within our society.
We seek to achieve our goals through the three pillars of unity, advocacy and education.
We pursue education and awareness of the Islamic Republic regime’s occupation of Iran and the defeat of the extremist ideology it has sought to export across the region and beyond.
We support to confronting and neutralising of the Muslim Brotherhood and forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and the broader machinery through which they impose repression at home and export instability abroad.
We believe that the dismantling of the Muslim Brotherhood and IRGC apparatus is essential to the liberation of the Indigenous people of the Middle East, including their diverse ethnic and religious communities such as the Assyrians, the sovereignty of Lebanon and the security of Israel. Liberation is essential to the broader hope for a freer, more peaceful, and more stable Middle East.
